We purchased this fountain because it’s stainless steel. We have 7 cats and put out 4 water bowls, then clean and refill daily. Often the cats will touch the water with their paw to create ripples before they drink. We have one cat loves to drink out of the faucet so we thought his would be purrfect. It is very quiet and all of the cats are curious, some drink from the bowl, as there is always ripples and others from the spout. It’s very attractive with the blue light in the sight window showing the water level. We have a 120v duplex receptacle above their feeding pad so we use the supplied 5v transformer plug to power the fountain. I’m considering adding a motion sensor receptacle so the fountain isn’t running 24/7. We are very happy with this purchase and highly recommend if you have a cat.

UPDATE: After posting my dilemma on a feline forum, it was suggested that I drink from the fountain in front of the cats. Would you believe it worked?! One of our two cats now enjoys the fountain’s flowing water. I couldn’t be more pleased! I’ve left my original comments intact below in hopes that you’ll benefit from my experience with the finicky felines with whom I share my home. I’m just happy to say that the Feline Fountain has become a fantastic success! —-My original comments / review——- As with most of my consumer purchases, I tend to do my homework and this cat fountain is no exception. First, I’d like to say that our cats are both rescue animals, a momma cat and her now adult son; both treat anything brought into their carefully controlled / managed domain as something to immediately meet with skepticism. The drinking fountain was no exception. Since I unboxed the fountain and removed the water dish in the room where I placed the fountain, both cats have made my position clear - they only keep me around to prepare their daily meals and clean the litter boxes. It’s strange, both are mesmerized by the flowing water and they seemed pleased with the gentle noise the fountain makes. They purr while sitting next to it watching the moving water, but much to my continued disappointment, neither cat considers it a drinking source. I went as far as trying different waters from four different premium water brands (they turned their noses up at the glass bottled water from Norway, too - all while giving me continued looks of disdain) in my continued attempts to get them to try the fountain. The results didn’t change. It pains me greatly neither choose to try it. I’m hopelessly optimistic but even I have limits…I’m open to suggestions on how to encourage the felines to give it a whirl. My powers of persuasion with this species (Felis catus) apparently fall short of that required. The water fountain is beautiful for an animal drinking appliance. It’s well built from quality stainless steel, easy to clean, and more. It comes with an easily replaced filter and its instructions are complete. It even has an illuminated window into its reservoir that allows you to check the water level without removing the top. I find its tranquil blue light soothing - the cats remain ambivalent. This pampered pet water fountain is among the best I’ve researched. If the finicky felines at my place continue to just watch it, I’m taking it to my room and I’ll sleep listening to the soothing sounds of running water.

I just got this fountain and set it up last night for my 2 cats, and they were drinking from it right away! It’s very big, and I really love how easy it is to open the tray where the filter goes—way easier than my other fountain that’s a struggle to deal with. I decided to use the spout since the water flows a bit too fast without it, and it’s been perfect, its also super quiet! Overall, super happy with it and so are the cats!
