You don't just simply hook up a 1 pound container and turn the valve. Highly recommend watching videos on use, for obvious safety reason. After learning the process, it's simple and easy.

I go through a lot of little canisters from camping, torches, etc so I wanted something to make it a bit cheaper to refill. This does a good enough job of refilling them The craftsmanship on this adapter is nice and it did not leak at all. The handle turned smoothly and the gauge works but it won’t tell you when it is full or did not for me. I opened the handle and just waited until the noise stopped because that meant the gas wasn’t being pushed in anymore because pressures were equalized. It took about 30 seconds to a minute per bottle and by my math I save a few bucks per tank refilling them myself. If I had a larger propane tank I might even save more but that is based on a 5 gallon. Overall, does the job and I like how easy it is to use. I would recommend this.

I have a straight refill adapter that I never felt comfortable using because it requires tipping the tank to fill. This adapter adds a pressure gauge and right angle fitting on the output side so that the empty cylinder hangs straight down. Just set the main tank upside down (a tank stand is best) and attach your empties for filling. It's a lot safer since you don't need to move or tilt the main tank.
