These things are priceless! Used to wire in my aftermarket Head unit radio. Work excellent! Seal AND solder wires together! I just hit them for about 15 seconds with my heat gun till shrink tube shrunk then solder melted to wire leads...boom, done!

They work like magic! Now I am still likely to use a more traditional product for use around the house, but these are usable ANYWHERE! Keep them around for emergency fixes on boat, RV etc. Just keep a lighter with them. A heat gun is a better tool to use, but in a pinch, you use what you have.

I used 2 of then and they are totally worth it. They provide quick, portable, and sturdy connections. So much better than having to run your soldering pen all the way out to the car or hard to reach places. Recommend you test one or two out as to how much heat and time it’s needed. That way you know what to do and expect the first times without burning your cable jacket.

Holy crap these things are easy to use! I've used them to re-route my speaker outputs from my car radios head unit to an amp and then back to the speakers. It was a lot of splicing, in a very tight space. I had to use a BBQ lighter instead of a hear gun due to the limited quarters. Controlling the heat was a little more tricky that way. If I fired the solder for too long the flux would burn through. But with practice and a close eye on the flux transitioning to a liquid and flowing I was able to make the necessary connections in a space that would of been nearly impossible to solder in.

Based on all the good reviews, I went out on a limb, and tried something new; and I'm glad I did. I replaced an old lightbulb fixture with an led panel, and used these heat shrink connectors to connect the jumpers to the ballasts wiring, and to the home wiring, and everything worked on the first try! Because the heat shrink connectors are clear, you can see that the exposed ends of both wires are crossing inside the solder ring, and then you heat it up and you can see the solder contract into the tube with the rest of the heat shrink... hit it from a few angles... then not as close going up the sleeves and watching it suck down over the wires... bye bye crimp connectors... bye bye twist caps ... bye bye electrical tape... these things are to electrical what pex was to plumbing...

This solder sleeve works exactly how it is described and kills two birds with one stone of soldering wire as well as sealing the connection. It is a huge time-saver and a necessity for beginners.

I love the idea of these little guys. I used them to rewrite the 4-way harness on my trailer. Having the wires soldered together was ideal and the waterproof glue was genious. I’m very happy with them. After the install I covered over 4 wires with a single black shrink wrap.

I tried the heat gun method (butane soldering gun with the soldering tip off) and couldn't get the solder hot enough. I stripped another piece of wire and got another connector then I took the tip off and put the naked flame just above the solder while rolling the wire to keep from overheating one spot on it and it was pretty quick to melt without burning the heat shrink around it. After a few seconds of cooling I pulled on the joint and the wire broke a few inches before the joint but the joint was still holding strong. The test wire was 18ga.

These connectors made my radio installation a breeze, splicing together the wiring harness to the adaptor. I used a heat-gun set to the recommended heat setting to melt the solder and shrink the tubing. The connections are very solid. Far more solid than using a traditional butt-connector or electrical tape (heaven forbid!! ?), and MUCH faster than soldering the wires the normal way. Best practice: push one wire all the way through the connector, then overlap the bare ends of the wires to be connected (do not twist them). Then slide the connector back over the overlapped wires until the solder ring is directly over them. Then apply heat, making sure you keep rotating the wires so it doesn't get too hot too fast in one spot. And make sure you don't accidentally pull the wires apart before the solder has a chance to firm up. This will be difficult to do if you're using a lighter. A cheap heat gun from Harbor Freight (for example), is a much better choice.

These are the best things ever. I've ordered the larger pack know cause they work so good. I use the heat gun with low and high power, I focus it on high heat directly at the center metal and once it melts I start moving the head gun back and forth over the edges to get the rest of the shear shrink wrapped up. I love it cause I can do 2 wires at the same time. I will be keeping these things in stock!
